Reframing School Culture in Large Districts: Lessons from Hillsborough and Houston Streamed live on November 30, 2015 Join Hillsborough County Superintendent, Jeff Eakins, and Chief Officer for School Leadership of Houston Independent School District, Dr. Darryl Williams, for a discussion on creating a positive culture for students, teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders. Leadership in Transnational and Transcultural Spaces
Published on March 1, 2016 Join Dr. Joe Wiemelt, Dr. Francisco Escobedo, and Su Veenstra as they discuss the multiple identities that shape leaders and the populations they serve. By acknowledging interconnected spaces, we accept the multiple ways of knowing and being and create what Anzaldúa (1987) calls a “critical place for cross-cultural negotiation and engagement.” Panelists will share their experiences and answer questions from virtual viewers. Queer Leadership
Streamed live on March 21, 2016 Join Jason Dennis, Catherine Lug. Judy Alston, and Jimmie Beall for a discussion on Queer Leadership. Panelists will offer specific, targeted perspectives on issues of identity, sexual orientation, gender identity, educational leadership and leadership preparation. Our aim is to promote a “consciously queer approach to educational leadership preparation” (Lugg & Tooms, 2010). |
