call for division A newsletter associate editors
The AERA Division A Newsletter is a vibrant and evolving publication that has received over 10,000 visits within the last year, averaging over 850 per month. Editors Kimberly Kappler Hewitt and Penny Tenuto invite you to consider joining our team as an associate editor, with the opportunity to move into the role of editor within one to three years.
What do we need?
We need one to two associate editors to commit to a two- or three-year term, with the possibility of moving into the role of editor within one to three years.
What does the role involve?
In collaboration with the newsletter editors, associate editors will brainstorm edition content, invite submissions, edit content, upload content to the newsletter website (iPage), and design newsletter pages.
Typically, there are three newsletter editions per year: Winter (January), Pre-conference (March), and Post-conference (Summer), although we are considering publishing some content on a rolling basis, given repeated hits the site gets between the release of the three editions.
The time commitment for editors varies by month, ranging from one hour to 20 hours during publication months (January, March, June/July). The time commitment for associate editors will also vary by month, ranging from one hour to 10 hours during publication months.
